Burbank Public Library Case Study
Burbank Public Library was the beta site for our original library website framework and will soon be moving to our new LibrarySite 2 system. We created this product specifically to meet the needs of public libraries. It consists of an integrated suite of tools including:
- Content Management: We have created a tool, which allows non-technical staff and managers to create and modify pages and elements of pages in a simple, word-processor-like environment. The system manages graphics, links and file assets (Acrobat documents, etc.) by cut & paste and/or menu driven tools. All of these services are provided directly on the page being edited and the results are available online immediately after they are saved. The system can be secured by a combination of password and location based authentication.
- File Management: Our product also lets the administrator manage the file system on the server from their web browser.
- Design: Our design team helped the Library develop a visual style that made the site attractive and easy to use, while also communicating the Library's identity and incorporating the Library's relationship to the City of Burbank.
